Riding Momentum
riding momentum workshop concentrates on the Efficiency & Momentum in Solo and in Contact work. it will be a combination of contact improvisation, floorwork, somatic movement and improvisation to create a deeply grounded and intensely physical experience, bringing together different bodies of research and interaction to discover new ways of moving and relating. there will be stillness and somatic exercises to begin each session to soften the nervous system and open the body’s capacity for sensing and listening. drawing from my background in breakdance, my floorwork practice has a unique blend of flowing spiral pathways and acrobatic qualities, finding softness and ease in dynamic physicality and playing around with principles of momentum, suspension and spirals in improvisation as well as choreographed sequences to allow the dancing body to deepen its own innate intelligence. the approach to the contact work…
